Bagasse, as a residue of sugarcane, is one of the worlds most renewable resources. This is because sugarcane can be harvested up to 3 times a year. Worldwide, the total harvest of sugarcane is more than 1.2 billion metric tons yearly, and 3 tons of sugarcane equals to 1 ton of bagasse.
